Here is my sketch for this weekend! If you didn't catch that, I've been moved from Friday to the weekend. ;) I'm glad, because I hardly ever have time to make a template on Thursday nights anymore (especially since Grey's Anatomy is back!!! lol) Yes, the template colors suck, but I knew what the layout would look like ahead of time.. The template will be available for free for you digi scrappers at ASB. I would LOVE to see any layouts you do with them. Swirls are by Anne Schlegel.

I just decided not to post my layout yet. It's for my husband, and I want him to see it first. I'll post it later this week.

(that was a little mean, huh?! lol)

Friday Sketch at ASB

Here is my Friday Sketch over at ASB. The template will be available for free asap.

Here's my page based on this template. I decided that I wanted my digital pages to look less like paper pages (stuff layered on each other), so I used the largest plant photo as an overlay behind the photo block. It totally darkened and changed the two papers for the background and the circle, but that's ok. I like the leafy effect.
Papers are a free Earth Day kit at www.divinedigital.com. Staples and white brush are from Anne's kits at ASB.

Here's the story. Someone at work gave me this plant. No one in the office knows what it is even though there are many of them around. Deb says it's "madagascar something", but with several internet searches and even posting photos on some plant forums I don't have a clue what it is! The stem has 5 distinct sides bordered by what I would call thick dense fur, like horse hair. It looks prickly, but isn't. And the furry part up between the leaves pops and drops small gray round seeds, which, I'm told we throw back into the pots to grow baby plants. My plant is about 2 feet tall and loves to fall over. The leaves are about 3x7 inches. And it loves the office lighting.

If anyone can tell me what it is, I'll be glad to send you a couple of seeds!! :)

Edited in 2010: It's a Jewel of Madagascar.

Another layout

I threw this layout together with freebies at www.divinedigital.com. This is an amazing kit- beautiful, with worlds and all kinds of stuff. I love the deep rich greens and blues. They have a minikit free to download each day in April- go get it!!

The journalling I wrote to my husband about how he's my hero.

I posted my paper layout for my design team today. I used the Vintage Blush paper to make this:

Other supplies: Chipboard "h" from Basic Grey, black paint from Plaid, purple ribbon from Winchester collection at The Angel Company, "together" tag from Autumn Leaves, doily from the cake dept at Michael's.

2 Peas Challenge for Sunday

Challenge~
Do you find it easier to get the creative juices flowing when your scrapping with others or alone?

Wow, that's a hard one. Lately, I feel inspired by looking at magazines and in online galleries, and in digital scrapbooking forums with tutorials. When I paper scrapped a lot, I went to some crops and enjoyed it. But since I've lived here, I went to the crops alone, so it wasn't the same, or near as fun, as going to crops in England, where I had some really great friends scrapping with me. Donna and Diane ALWAYS inspired me!

Quickie

Made a quick layout to show my mom my spring photos:

It's freaking SNOWING!!!!

I haven't done a 2Peas challenge in a while, so...

Do you have sites you like to visit and do their challenges?

Of course! I am on the challenge team at A Shade of Blue- I make the sketches (digi templates are available in the forum there) and CHALLENGE YOU TO MAKE LAYOUTS with them! They also have great challenges every other day of the week- like card sketches, color challenges, and Use Your Stash Challenges!

I also do 2Peas challenges occasionally. I'm really into the "Multi Photos" challenges lately.

I won't say I do this a lot, but the Photoshop Friday blog has a new tutorial most Fridays, and they can be used as digital challenges.

I'm always up to try new ones, so please share!

New template!

Here's my template for this week over at ASB! I know it looks like a mess of color, but I love the page I made with it!

For my page I used the Festival Kit from Shabby Princess! I added the photo corners from the American Made kit at ASB. Fonts are CK Ali and Bernard MT Condensed. I wanted a bright happy page with high energy for this, because, as we all know, exercise can really suck sometimes! I journaled about my abilities at this time. And how I feel about formal exercise.

I used the color picker to pick out the reddish background and the green on the left side from the striped paper. I love that color picker! For the background I just discovered the Texturizer! It looks just like textured cardstock, right?!
