Enjoying winter

Okay, I tried to blog some photos from my phone, but apparently that didn't work. Dang.

So....

Today we enjoyed winter.

I don't like winter. Not in Alaska, anyway. It's dark way too much. And it's cold. 15 degrees today. And today is a warm day. I like to stay inside, next to a window if the sun is shining, and look out onto the pretty white snow. I would LOVE it if we had a fireplace- that might make cold nights bearable. Anyway, it IS gorgeous here. And since my word is COMPLETE- I decided to give my complete attention to my kiddos and enjoy what we have for winter at the same time.

We went sledding....

Both my boys together.

Catching air!!!

this is our sledding hill and the view toward the main part of town.

and finally.....

Why didn't anyone tell me that my hat looks funny?

Happy New Year!

If you're not sick of Christmas photos out here in blogland, I'll post a few of mine today. I haven't scrapbooked any, but I did a good job of keeping notes on my computer all month long, so lots of good stuff to journal!

Since it's New Year's Eve...

I just now decided on my One Little Word for the year.

Complete.

Ha!

As in:
complete the classes I signed up for
complete the projects that are sitting around the house (sewing, digi, crochet, decor, etc)
complete the home projects before we put our house up for sale this time next year. (gotta love being military)

but MOST importantly:
give my COMPLETE attention to my kids, rather than have one eye on my laptop or TV and the other on them.
And, you know, something for myself along the way. lol

Yesterday I played with my 6yo and our two Nintendo DS systems. We did the PictoChat thing, where I could draw or write something and send it to his DS, and he to mine. We had fun, drawing pictures, practicing his dolch words, playing tic tac toe, etc. He wore me out! lol

I also made a list of things I want to complete (crafts and home projects, mostly) just so I have an idea what's going to be happening this year. I started with less than 10 things so that I won't get overwhelmed!

Anyway, Happy New Year everyone!

She's back!!

My camera, that is!

I picked her up from being repaired this afternoon, and immediately was inspired to brave the negative temperatures and the fact that we just had a storm and got almost 2 feet of snow in the area, to drive up into the mountains (alone!) to shoot the freezing Alaska wilderness.

These photos are of the Chugach Mountain Range just outside of Anchorage at sunset (which is about 2:30 pm this time of year). Enjoy. :)

Photos edited with Pioneer Woman actions, levels, etc. Just the basics. ;)

Busy busy...

I haven't been scrapbooking much. Needless to say I didn't keep up with December Daily. How about a December Weekly? That's more my speed! :) This is a quick round up of what I've been up to.

Chopped my hair off and donated it to Locks of Love.

Christmas shopping, wrapping, etc.

Snow blowing, shoveling, etc. We are up to 1 1/2 feet so far with this storm, and more expected tonight.

Trying to take photos, and playing with textures.

Spending quality time with my family.

I'll be honest, playing dumb games on Facebook. :)

Take care & I'll try to blog again soon!

(Textures on photo: asphalt texture by me, another texture by ShadowHouse.)
