Valentines Day- Cookie Style

Happy Valentine's Day, friends! I made cookies this past weekend.  Want to see them?

I made them for an event for women who have husbands that are deployed right now.  So I had to make some yellow ribbons in support of our military men.

(I'm not being sexist- we happened to not have any husbands with deployed wives at this event today.)

And these are my favorite cookies:

I made two hearts- one for the wife, and one for the deployed husband.
I know.  Aaaaaahhhhh.   ;)

While I'm posting, my friend Cilenia has a coupon for her digital scrapbooking kits HERE. Check it out!

Are you doing anything special for someone on this day?

  1. Well, no plans for Valentine's Day, but those cookies look delightful!!! I love the yellow ribbon cookies...very creative! If only I lived closer, I could do a taste test LOL! :)

  2. These are totally adorable Nicky. How do you make the dots in the icing?

  3. Thanks, Angie and Kathleen!
Kathleen- I think I was going to do a tutorial on that someday. Basically, have your two colors of flood icing ready to go at the same time. Use your main color (let's say pink) and flood the whole cookie, then immediately (like within minutes) drip the second icing into the first. It will sink right in.

The only thing is I wanted to make white icing with red dots, but I just KNEW that the red dye would bleed into the white. It didn't happen with any of these, and I was very impressed. I used royal icing for all of these cookies (which is why you see such a distinct outline). I'll try to remember to take pictures next time I do dots and write up a little tutorial. :)
