Love those pictures. Those boys will look back and think, wow! Mom And Dad were THERE! Such sweet, sweet photos. I know you'd rather been scrapping or baking or whatever, but time well spent and so glad you sacrificed to do it.
Just wrote a long comment. To wit....I know you'd rather been home scrapping or baking, but you made the good sacrifice to be there with those young men. You're a great mom, Nicky! Precious pictures!
Wonderful photos Nicky. My favs are: one of you and Art, group shot at the end, first photo with awesome starburst on it, slushie photo, and the tree photo with ds in it. These are my fav's but the others are great too and show a great representation of the whole weekend. I think it's funny how they are out camping and yet they are in the "uniforms".
Thanks, ladies! Kathleen- as for the uniforms- the Boy Scouts (the older kids) have to be in their uniforms on the way to and from every outing, including camping. This was a council event, so they required it while participating in the merit badge classes. For the Cub Scouts (the younger ones), they had to be in either Class As (the blue shirt with patches) or Class Bs (the official Tshirts) when participating in events, but as for the pack, we encouraged the tshirts the whole weekend, and we had a pack meeting on Saturday night, which requires the Class A's. We're very official, ya know. ;)
My name is Nicky Hurt. I am: a wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, aunt, sister-in-law, digi scrapbooker, scrapbooking class collector, scrapbooking supply collector, roadside photographer, Air Force wife, hiker, camper, outdoorsman (when it's warm!), Alaskan, creator, TV watcher, crocheter, PEO Sister, design team member, and reader. I find that I'm getting more and more neurotic, and slightly more sarcastic every year.
" ...but the biggest mistake I made is the one that most of us make while doing this. I did not live in the moment enough. This is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. There is one picture of the three on them sitting in the grass on a quilt in the shadow of the swing set on a summer day, ages 6, 4, and 1. And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in a hurry to get on to the next things: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less." -Anna Quindlen
Awesome photos. Looks like a fun weekend.
