On being artsy...

I often struggle with my style when creating layouts when it comes to being clean or artsy. I do both. I love both. 

That being said, I don't art journal per say. I scrapbook with blending and brushes and that's what I love. I prefer having photos and stories to the "art journal" style with lots of stuff and a quote or two. But being on a creative team for a store full of art journalers is where my struggle comes in. Sometimes I don't fit in.  But you know what? That's okay with me. I like being able to use artsy papers, brushes, and blending, and do it in a traditional scrapbook style with photos and words.

Like I said... I'm okay with that.

Today Cilenia (of Scrap Art Studio and Digitals designing fame) said it best:

ARTSY!   We are not art journalers by the traditional meaning... but we all have an artsy feel to our work.  Might be clean, might be messy, might be between. :)   I think though, all of us are Life Journalers. :)  And that ranges from scrapbooking to visual journaling to creating for healing, remembering moments without photos, and creating art for the soul. :D
